Spendenaufruf:
Durch den Strassenbau wurde leider der Pausenplatz der Schule in Chheskam zerstört. Nach langem Suchen konnten wir einen neuen geeigneten Platz finden. Für die Umsetzung respektive die Finanzierung sind wir auf Spenden angewiesen. Möchtest du den Kindern in Chheskam helfen, dass sie bald wieder einen Pausenplatz haben?
Sobald die Finanzierung steht, und es die aktuelle Situation erlaubt, wird Pasang nach Chheskam laufen um mit dem Bau zu starten. Für die Einheimischen ist der Bau momentan die einzige Möglichkeit Geld zu verdienen.
Kurzarbeitentschädigung:
Da Pasang momentan auch keine Arbeit hat, habe ich entschieden ihm eine Kurzarbeitentschädigung zu geben. Normalerweise arbeitet Pasang so wie ich freiwillig in unserer Organisation. Aber die aktuelle Situation verlangt nach Handlung. Ihm ist es wie vielen Nepalesen nicht möglich im Moment Geld zu verdienen. Darum wird unsere Organisation Pasang ein wenig unterstützen. :)
Aktuelle Situation in Nepal:
Leider sind die Infektionszahlen in Nepal wieder angestiegen. Grund dafür ist zum einen, dass die Grenzen zu Indien immer noch offen sind. In Indien sind die Zahlen sehr hoch, und es reisen etliche Inder nach Nepal ein. Dann sind es auch die Touristen, die in das Land eingereist sind. Trotz strenger Kontrolle am Flughafen, gab es Fälle bis ins Basislager des Everest. Einige mussten nach Kathmandu geflogen werden, darunter auch Einheimische. :(
Ab morgen werden etliche internationale Flüge gestrichen. Die Regierung verschärft den Lockdown wieder.
Ich hoffe sehr, dass sich nicht noch mehr einheimisch anstecken. Es fehlt ihnen an der nötigen Infrastruktur. Einerseits verstehe ich die Regierung, dass sie dem Land mit dem Tourismus ein bisschen Hoffnung schenken wollten. Doch macht es mich auch sehr traurig, dass nun das Virus stärker im Land ist. Auch finde ich es von den Touristen egoistisch, wenn sie nach Nepal reisen. Sorry, dass ist meine Meinung. Man kann doch die eigenen Bedürfnisse zurückstecken und einfach zu Hause bleiben!! Und nicht in ein Land reisen, und diese der Gefahr aussetzen! Klar macht es mich auch traurig, wenn die Einheimischen keine Arbeit haben. Aber sie sind gesund! Und zum Glück können sie sich selber versorgen und müssen nicht hungern!! Ich wäre auch gerne nach Nepal gereist. Jetzt sind es dann bald zwei Jahre her, wo ich das letzte mal dort war. Aber ich möchte sie schützen und nicht etwas ein schleppen. Und so sicher ist ein Negativtest nicht, mittlerweile wissen wir das. Ich hoffe wirklich sehr, dass nicht allzu viele Einheimische sich angesteckt haben....

Appeal for donations:
Due to the road construction, unfortunately, the school play ground of the school in Chheskam was destroyed. After a long search we were able to find a new suitable place. For the realization
respectively the financing we are dependent on donations. Would you like to help the children in Chheskam to have a playground again soon?
As soon as the financing is in place and the current situation allows it, Pasang will walk to Chheskam to start the construction. For the locals, construction is the only way to earn money at the
moment.
No work compensation:
Since Pasang has no work at the moment either, I decided to give him a no work compensation. Normally Pasang works voluntarily in our organization as I do. But the current situation demands
action. He, like many Nepalese, is not able to earn money at the moment. Therefore our organization will support Pasang a little bit. :)
Current situation in Nepal:
Unfortunately, the number of infections in Nepal has increased again. One reason for this is that the borders to India are still open. In India the numbers are very high and quite a few Indians
are entering Nepal. Then there are also the tourists who have entered the country. Despite strict control at the airport, there have been cases as far as the base camp of Mt. Everest. Some had to
be flown to Kathmandu, including locals. :(
Starting tomorrow, several international flights will be canceled. The government is tightening the lockdown again.
I hope very much that not more locals get infected. They lack the necessary infrastructure. On the one hand I understand the government that they wanted to give the country a little hope with
tourism. But it also makes me very sad that the virus is now stronger in the country. I also think it is selfish of the tourists to travel to Nepal. Sorry, that is my opinion. You can put your
own needs back and just stay at home!!! And not travel to a country, and expose them to danger! Sure it makes me sad too when the locals don't have jobs. But they are healthy! And fortunately
they can provide for themselves and do not have to starve!!! I would also have liked to travel to Nepal. Now it's almost two years since I was there the last time. But I want to protect them and
not drag something in. And a negative test is not that safe, by now we know that. I really hope that not too many locals have been infected....
